We’re pleased to announce that BackupAssist v5 has been released! Our new version has just gotten even better as a result of 18 months of solid development.
Contents:
BackupAssist integrates with Windows 2008’s block-level drive imaging features (the successor to NTBackup), giving users an easy method for disaster recovery.
For a brief overview of these features, please view our Windows Imaging Fact Sheet. For a more detailed look at how this works, refer to our Windows Sever 2008 Backup White Paper.
Our File Replication Engine gives you the simplicity of backing up files by copying them to your backup device. It provides a range of backup history (versioning) options, and the power of our Single Instance Store which means that only one unique copy of each file is stored.
Another way of describing the File Replication Engine is “robocopy on steroids” – versatile, powerful and (unlike robocopy) VSS compliant.
For an overview of how it works, please view our File Replication Engine Fact Sheet. For in-depth information on how you can use this engine to backup Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines, backup network files on Server 2008, and more, refer to the BackupAssist Scenarios White Paper.
Easily achieve fully automated, set-and-forget and secure offsite backups using the proven and popular Rsync protocol. Rsync backups are perfect as an extra layer of data protection in addition to backing up locally for Disaster Recovery.
Combined with BackupAssist’s easy to configure UI, powerful email reporting and VSS support, BackupAssist allows you to take advantage of the world’s most widely deployed in-file delta remote backup protocol in an easy-to-use Windows based application.
For an overview of how it works, please view our Rsync Internet Backup Fact Sheet and BackupAssist for Rsync tour.
Our new Centralised Monitoring Console makes it easy to monitor multiple BackupAssist installations.
The Centralized Monitoring Console or CMC is a new feature that will allow you to collate and monitor all of your subscribed clients BackupAssist v5 job reports remotely. With the CMC you will be able to:
