Invalid Command Line Parameter /P

Example:

Invalid command line parameter '/P'.
Usage: Specify a pool for command line switch /p.

Explanation:

BackupAssist is setup incorrectly. The Media Pool setting is missing.

Causes and Resolution:

Go into the Options tab in BackupAssist, and check your Media Pool setting (near the top of the window). Typically this should be set to one of the following, depending on the type of your tape drive:

  • 4mm DDS
  • 8mm AIT
  • LTO Ultrium
  • 8mm MP
  • Travan
  • miniQIC

Note: If you click on the down arrow (to the right of the Combobox), BackupAssist will try to automatically detect the type of your tape drive and fill in the value.
