Selection File Not Found
Example:
The saved selection file "Files\BackupAssist\PhaseTwo-0.bks" cannot be found.

This error message is slightly misleading. It means that one or more entries in the mentioned file (eg. PhaseTwo-0.bks) are not available for backup
Causes and Resolution:
There can be several causes of this problem:
Cause: Exchange Server Backup
If you are backing up an Exchange Server, then please check the following:
- Ensure that both your Exchange Server name and Storage Groups have been entered in correctly within the Exchange Server Tab of BackupAssist. Typically, the default storage group name is First Storage Group. Please ensure that these settings have all be spell-checked as well.
- If you are backing up a remote Exchange Server, you need to have the Exchange libraries installed on your backup machine so that it can communicate with Exchange. Please visit this site for instructions on how to do this:
http://www.backupassist.com/HTMLHelp/Tutorials_remoteExchange.htm
- The backup user identity (ie. the user account that you choose for your backups) must have privileges to access and backup your Exchange Server. Normally the Administrator user is fine for this. Please check your user permissions for Exchange
- On some SBS servers, in the Backup User Identity in BackupAssist, you may need to leave the Domain field blank. To change this, go into the BackupAssist Navigator > Settings > Backup User Identity, and clear the Domain field.
Cause: SQL Server Backup configured incorrectly
If you are backing up your SQL Server, this message can mean that your backup user does not have access to the SQL Backup Directory. Please refer to the instructions given in the white paper:
