We have the "feeling" that getting our users to do a "Prepare Tape" when they load the tape drive, seems to increase the reliability of the backup process.
Accordingly, we would recommend a retensioning facility being built into BackupAssit.

Thanks for your feedback, this is Andrew from BackupAssist support.
It is unlikely that we would include a retension program in BackupAssist as not all Travan drives work with one specific retension program.
As you have most likely found we provide you the ability to use a third party rentensioning program with BackupAssist, and this is the best solution so that you can use which ever program works for your particular drive.
