i'm currently evaluating your product. when trying to export individual mailboxes and i choose only the mailboxes below and click select mailboxes, i can only see users on the first mail store. i have two mail stores, one was created default by exchange 2003 and the other one was created by me with the name VIP's. I need to export individual mailboxes for the VIP's since their email are more important. the exchange is running on server 2003.
thanks
Thanks for your post, this is Andrew from BackupAssist support.
There should be no problem backing up mailboxes from different stores as this is controlled at the user level (each user is configured to use a particular store), so given that the individual mailbox addon also works at the user level I would think that is should be fine.
That being said I have not tested this, so I will try to do some testing today and will get back to you with my results as soon as I have them.
Sorry for the delay in responding, but I have not had a chance to full test this scenario as yet. I will be completing my tests tomorrow and will post back to you as soon as I have some information.
Once again I appologize for the delay. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I can now see the 2nd store, and select users from it. But a new problem is now occuring. When I close out of backup assist and go back into that job, all my settings under exchange are gone. I haven't done a backup yet so I don't know if the job is working with the correct settings, but all the settings are gone. The server selection is gone, The information stores and the mailbox's. Everything went back to the defaults.
I have informed our development team about the issue you are facing and they are investigating this matter further.
In order to assist in their investigation, could you please enable debugging logging (View > Navigator > Information) and resimulate the error and then supply me with some diagnostic information - for help with compiling the diagnostics, please visit: http://www.backupassist.com/HTMLHelp/Tr ... upport.htm and send the diagnostics.zip file to support@backupassist.com.
i tried your software one more time because of the update for the add-on and everything is working fine now. i'm now ready to purchase. just one more question with exchange add-on. are the messages in the dumpster also being exported to the pst files?
The pst file that is created includes the following - Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Junk E-Mail, Outbox, Sent Items, Spam Folders, Sync Issues and Search Folders.
I hope this helps, but please let me know if you have any additional questions.
i changed the BAExTemp.ini file to modify CopyDeletedItemsFromDumpster=0 to 1. This will enable me to copy deleted items from the deleted folder but are still in the server to be recovered as part of the pst file. i hope there will be no issue with this setting...
