We use some HP DDS5 units and some Sony AIT (AIT 2 Turbo and AIT 3).

Hello Rafael,
What is the size of the data you are trying to write to the tapes and what size are the tapes. When it comes to compression you will never get the maximum compression they say. Usually a good compression is 1:1.4 because most files on a windows system are already compressed like jpg files for example are compressed bmp files. This means the hardware compression will not be able to compress them any more.
I will be happy to look at this issue if you want to submit the diagnostics.
To send us diagnostic information please follow these steps:
1) Go to Contact Support (from the bottom-left corner of the console) ->Contact support
2) Fill out the form and ensure that the Submit system diagnostics checkbox at the bottom is ticked.

I have tried to post a Diagnostics from one of our sites but I get a continous error... I will try from another one later on.
I don´t get ANY compression... We are backing up som 240 GB to a Sony AIT 2 Unit (80/204 GB not compressed/compressed capacity advertised) but we need to use 3 Tapes, with Compresion at 1:1!!.

If you go to the c:\program files\BackupAssist v5 folder you should see a file called BackupAssistDiagnostics.zip. This is the file that is created when you
try to submit diagnostics. If that file is there you can email it to us at
support@backupassist.com. If it is to large to email you can use sendspace.com and send it to the same address.
