Hi Boden and Rufguy,
It's Stuart here from the BackupAssist team, thanks for your post on our forum.
We’ve priced the add-on as it integrates into the entire suite, and as a package, it is substantially less expensive than the competitors.
You can see a price comparison on Pages 24 to 27 of the following document:
http://www.backupassist.com/downloads/p ... Backup.pdfOur solution, at $723, is substantially less than the two competitors (whose prices are $6,235 and $2,498 for comparable functionality).
The actual benefit of our granular restore console is that you can do the restore from any of the backups available on a backup device (including past backups), and that the console makes it simple to do. There’s quite a bit more than meets the eye when it comes to mounting the VHD through disk management, which most administrators will only encounter when they want to do a restore [the investment will pay back itself when you consider the time taken to figure out the process]. If granular restores are not important, you are of course welcome to simply purchase BackupAssist to handle the standard backup/restore tasks.
If you have anything to add, please reply to my post or send an e-mail directly to
