Scripts Window: entering scripts to execute before and after a backup runs

In the Scripts Window you can input commands that perform certain functions (eg. authenticating to remote machines, deleting files from a directory, stopping services). Scripts can be executed either before or after your backup job runs.

BackupAssist also offers users a number of environment variables that can easily be incorporated into scripts. These variables help you to powerfully customize backup scripts and perform different commands depending on conditional variables.

You should typically test all scripts in a command prompt environment before entering them into your backup job's configuration.

To access the Scripts Window:

  1. Click Jobs in the navigation bar
  2. Right-click on the desired job and select Edit.
  3. Click Scripts on the left menu.
