Zip options: setting Zip engine specific options
The Zip Options Window is where you can configure settings that are specific to the Zip Method that a job was created with. Generally, the default values will work for most users, but it may be necessary to alter these values, particularly if requested by the BackupAssist technical support team.
Learn more about backup methods
To access the Zip Options Window:
Set compression ratio
Specify the amount of compression for each backup: no compression, fast compression (larger but faster backups), or most compression (smaller but slower backups).
Encrypt the backup
Choose to have your backups encrypted with a password using 256-bit AES encryption.
Specify the number of compression/encryption threads
Use this option to specify how many processor threads BackupAssist should use on a multi-core or multi-processor computer. Using multiple threads can significantly reduce the time a backup takes to complete.
Copy NTFS security attributes and alternate data streams
Use this option to have NTFS security attributes and alternate data streams of directories stored within your ZIP backups. Doing so means you can restore exact copies of your original data, including all security information.
