Five Things In Life You Wish You Could Backup and Restore

Backup and Restore Do Over

We’ve all had that fantasy of being able to rewind time and get a do-over. It’s simple with data, but not so simple with everything else!

Here’s a list of five things in life you probably wish had restore points in case things go south.

1. Dates

Backup and Recovery for Dates!

Sometimes we say stupid things; they just sort of ‘slip out’. This happens incredibly often when you’re nervous and trying to impress, like on a date.

It’s even worse when the person you’re on a date is so attractive you lose the ability to form… long… word… things. Or you tell a joke that sounded great in your head, but not-so-great out loud.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could make a backup before the date and use it as a restore point? Especially so if it’s a blind-date and your would-be beau leaves a lot to be desired.

2. Interviews

Another stressful event where most people get tongue-tied. Not only would it be handy to get a do-over, it’d be great to know all the questions in advance.

It’d also be handy to be able to backup and restore interviews if you got there and realized you wore the wrong thing.

3. Yourself

Backup and Restore yourself!

There are so many great reasons you’d want a backup of yourself, so much so you’d want to do a daily, monthly and yearly cycle of them. Here’s just a few:

Injuries: You fall down the stairs and break your arm. No problem. I made a backup of myself this morning!

Hangovers: Ohhh man, my head is killing me. If only I hadn’t mixed my alcohols. Oh, wait, didn’t I make a self-backup last Tuesday?

Aging: Is that a wrinkle? Grey hairs? No hair? Let me look for that 2005 yearly backup I made…

Weight Gain: Better make a back up before I bite into that burger.

Full Recoveries: I knew the bungee rope looked a little flimsy.

4. Your House

Backup and Recovery

Doubly true if you’ve got kids, you’re a slob or have a lot of parties. Wouldn’t it be nice if every time your house got trashed, you could just restore it back to its pristine state?

This one’s even better if you’re planning to sell. Don’t forget to make one backup when you move in to restore it back before the natural wear-and-tear.

5. Your Money

Backup and Recovery gambling

Maybe you put money into a company on the stock market, played the wrong horse at the track, or that big fancy lunch you bought was totally overpriced. Either way, there’s situations in life were we just want our money back!

Imagine if you had the power to backup and restore before any financially costly decision. Pretty neat, right?

If Only!

At least at this point in human history, data is the only thing you can backup and restore. That said, backing up your business data can still save a lot of things. It can save your house, your money from being lost, and you from rapidly aging—at least from stress.
