We’re happy to announce that BackupAssist 5.4 is now out of beta and officially available for download! This latest release includes a number of improvements:
New BackupAssist Hyper-V Solution
Use our great new backup solution with any Windows Hyper-V product to create a simple one-pass image backup of the Host and then use our new BackupAssist VM Granular Restore Console Add-on to retrieve any file, folder or document from any Guest VM in under three minutes! Note: after installing the update to v5.4 you will receive a free 30 day trial of the VM Granular Restore Console. To use the Restore Console beyond the trial period you will need to purchase a Hyper-V Add-on from our purchasing page or your Reseller Portal.
Support for new SATA & Blu-ray facilities and more!
BackupAssist 5.4 also includes SATA support for non-hot-swap SATA controllers, support for Blu-ray drives on Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7, and a new intra-day schedule so that you can run image backups multiple times a day. We’ve also fixed a few bugs and improved some existing features. For a full list of changes see our release notes.
