Kaspersky Anti-Virus causing BSOD

It has been discovered that certain versions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus can cause computers to halt and Blue Screen.

This issue is caused by Kaspersky Anti-Virus v6 and can effect BackupAssist v5.x.x and BackupAssist v6.x.x on all Windows operating systems.

The Fix:

To rectify this conflict you will need to uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus and install the latest  version of Kaspersky.

  1. Oh really, just another typical ignorant “fix” that never works. Telling the product users to uninstall/reinstall/install the program is really taking them for total idiots. Of course EVERYONE tried everything while trying to get rid of that BSOD and nothing seems to work. Nothing. I’m one of the helpless users being UNABLE to uninstall the old Kaspersky to install and use a newly bought version. I’m sincerely waiting for another very general and stupid hint like ‘try to reboot your computer’.
