USB Stick not recognized

Postby gghiq » Sat Jan 28, 2012 1:28 am

Hi
I want to backup to a 128 GB USB stick. However, I cannot mount it under Backupassist. It is not recognized as external Hard drive neither is it recognized as RDX drive. The only thing I could do is to mount as a network location.
This however is not satisfactory.
How can I backup to it as either external HDD or RDX?
thank you for help

Hi there,

It's Stuart here from the BackupAssist team, thanks for posting on our forum.

Usually if the drive isn't detected as a USB drive it's due to Windows picking it up as a 'local drive' and not a 'removable drive' under Windows Explorer.
If this is the case, then you'll need to use the 'Local Directory' option to be able to run the backup to your USB stick.

Please let me know if this helps and if you have anything to add, reply to my post.
