When you try to perform a backup to your tape drive, you receieve the following within the BackupAssist event viewer:

	BackupAssist warning #15050
  Description: Unable to get library request GUID

  BackupAssist warning #15012
  Description: Error occurred when finding inventory requests.

Cause

  • By default, BackupAssist utilizes a small Windows API to control and access your tape drive. On rare instances particular tape drives do not function well with this API. To workaround this problem

Resolution

  • Ensure that all drives you are backing up from have been defragmented with the Windows defrag utility

  • Try re-formatting each REV disk you plan on backing up to.

  • Make sure that if you are using an external USB REV drive that the USB2?.0 interface has been correctly installed and functioning at full speed, or purchase an additional adapter that supports the USB2?.0 interface.
