What's new in BackupAssist Classic v15
NEW Immutable Cloud Backup
Immutable cloud backups deliver all the familiar benefits of cloud storage: automated offsite backups, geographic redundancy, and scalability. The critical upgrade? Once saved, your data is locked and tamper-safe - even from you.
- Once a backup is stored in the cloud, it cannot be modified or deleted for a defined retention period.
- Protects your backups from:
- Ransomware Attacks: Backups stay safe from ransomware attacks - even if your systems are compromised.
- Hacking: Even if a hacker hijacks your local network and cloud account, your backup cannot be deleted.
- Internal Sabotage: No one can delete or modify your backups - not even trusted users.
- Misconfigurations: Accidental changes or deletions? Not possible once backups are immutable.
- Enables robust business continuity:
- Immutable cloud backups provide enterprise-grade protection at SMBfriendly costs. For companies who can’t afford downtime, it’s a smart investment in business continuity.

NEW additions to Cloud Backup
Cloud Request Rate Management:
- New cloud backup jobs will have upload / download request rates set by default to further minimize experience of Skipped files.
- Set to optimum starting values for each cloud provider.
- Dynamically adjust request rates based on cloud provider slow-down requests.
- Automatically increase upload request rates if conditions improve.
- Performance benefits: Limiting request rates reduces incidents of cloud provider throttling, improving overall backup stability and performance.
