Description

BackupAssist has encountered a problem using the backup destination. This could be due to the destination hardware or the connection to it.

Resolution

Below is a list of hardware troubleshooting steps. To investigate this problem, follow steps from this list that apply to the type of hardware device you are using.

  • Check the hardware is correctly attached with the correct cables.
  • Check that the hardware is powered on. If there are indicator lights, check them against the device documentation.
  • Check that the latest hardware drivers are installed.
  • Consult the hardware vendors troubleshooting resources.
  • Turn off the computer and device, then turn on the device and then turn on the computer.
  • Check that your computer's device manager displays the device as functioning.

Any problems with the hardware or connections to the hardware will need to be resolved before the backup job can run. Your hardware vendor will have support information on their website to assist you.
