Description
During the verify stage of your backup, NTBackup detected that your data on the backup device was inconsistent with the source data.
Resolution
There is one main cause of this error:
- Bad blocks on your backup device (eg. USB hard disk) - perform a chkdsk operation and check for issues with your device
Additionally, other users have reported other resolutions (that we have not been able to simulate or confirm). These are listed below.
- Cris Hanna [SBS-MVP] recommends turning off VSS on the operating system partition. Refer to: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=721217
- Susan Bradley [SBS-MVP] reports of a VSS fix that may be required after installing SP2. http://msmvps.com/blogs/bradley/archive/2007/04/07/post-sp2-backup-blues.aspx
- A user reports that turning off NTFS Compression (if it is turned on) reportedly fixed the issue: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=721217
