BackupAssist v5.3 to v9 |
Description
This error occurs when Exchange 2007 MAPI is installed, then Outlook is installed on the same machine, which leaves Exchange MAPI in an invalid state.
This is most likely due to an Outlook uninstall causing MAPI configuration to become corrupted.
Note: The Exchange Mailbox Protection feature was deprecated in BackupAssist v9 and removed in BackupAssist 10. To get granular support for Exchange Server 2016, and to use the newer Exchange Granular Restore feature, we suggest upgrading to the current version of BackupAssist with the Exchange Granular add-on. To learn more, see Exchange Server restore
Resolution
To resolve this error un-install Outlook (if currently installed) then upgrade Exchange MAPI from within BackupAssist
The steps to upgrade Exchange MAPI from within BackupAssist are as follows:
- Open BackupAssist
- Select the Jobs tab's Manage Menu, and select the Exchange mailbox backup job you need to change from the list provided.
- Click on Destination down the left hand side.
- Click on the Upgrade button under ANSI for Exchange option.
