A new or unrecognized RDX cartridge is inserted

Description

The RDX cartridge inserted into the drive has not been prepared for use by BackupAssist.

Resolution

There are 2 possible resolutions for this problem

Solution 1 - Prepare the RDX cartridge for backup

To prepare media follow the steps below:

1. Open BackupAssist.
2. Select Manage Backup Jobs.
3. Select the backup job.
4. Select Edit from the top menu.
5. Select Prepare Media from the top menu.
6. Attach the drive you want to be prepared.
7. Click Prepare on the relevant media name.

The media will then be assigned to that media label. For example a disk prepared for the 'Monday' label will be expected by BackupAssist each Monday.

Solution 2 - Do not have BackupAssist manage your media

To stop BackupAssist from tracking which media is being used:

1. Open BackupAssist.
2. Select Manage Backup Jobs.
3. Select the backup job.
4. Select Edit from the top menu.
5. Select Destination from the options on the left.
6. Under the Media Checking section, untick Let BackupAssist keep track of your media.
