Description
A backup software product such as Backup Exec (or other backup software that installs its own tape drivers) has uninstalled the Windows Tape Drivers, and prevented all other backup programs from functioning properly.
Resolution
If this error was caused by installing Backup Exec (or other similar backup software), please uninstall Backup Exec. You will then need to reinstall the original Windows tape drivers - that most likely came with your tape drive.
Note: A reboot after uninstalling Backup Exec may be required to restore the ability to use the Windows tape drivers.
Otherwise, pleae check that your Windows tape drivers are installed correctly, and that your tape drive is visible from within Computer Management (under the Removable Storage section).
