Description
Each catalog file generated by the Zip engine within BackupAssist contains it's own individual serial number. This error is generated when two catalog files have been found to contain the identical serial number. To find the offending catalog files, roll the mouse over the error on the backup report and this will be displayed.
Resolution
As mentioned above, roll over the error code on the backup report to find the name of the specific files which are causing the error.
Browse to the files location which is by default %programdata%\backupassist vX\catalogues (where X is the version of BackupAssist you're running) and manually delete the catalog files that were listed on the backup report.
Note: We recommend that you make a copy of the catalog files before you remove them from the catalog folder in case they're required for future purposes.
The consequence of the catalog files having duplicate serial numbers is that the BackupAssist Restore Console becomes confused when attempting to load the offending catalog files. However if you are required to restore a file from the backup these files are associated with, you can open the .zip file itself using WinZip or 7-Zip and manually extract the files required.
