Description
Some files that a VSS writer is expecting are not accessible or available.
Resolution
If you mouse-over the error, it will show you the VSS writer that generated the error and help isolate the cause.
Make sure that all your data selections in the backup job are actually present by following the steps below:
- Open BackupAssist
- Click on Jobs at the top of the BackupAssist console
- Select the job experiencing the issue.
- Click on Files and Applications down the left hand side.
- Click on Check Selections and this should tell you if anything isn't able to be accessed.
You can deselect the selections which can't be accessed/found which will then remove the error.
Alternatively, you can check the Event Viewer (start > run > eventvwr) for any VSS related errors or warnings being generated by the system. Resolving these should in turn resolve the backup error.
