BackupAssist v4 or later and any Windows Operating System running the VSS service.

Description

This particular VSS error is caused due to high disk activity. High disk activity does not allow VSS to create a shadow copy in the default time period when a snapshot is being performed.

Resolution

Re-schedule your backup to run at a time when disk activity isn't as high.
