Destination Window: configuring your backup destination

 

The Destination Window is where you can choose and configure the hardware device you are backing up to. BackupAssist offers support for a large range of hardware devices and satisfies a range of requirements. You can even create separate jobs for each hardware device you have (ie. you might backup daily to tape and monthly to an FTP server).
Creating additional jobs

Each media type has a different group of settings which can be configured.

To access the Destination Window:

  1. Click Jobs in the navigation bar
  2. Right-click on the desired job and select Edit.
  3. Click Destination on the left menu.

To change the backup hardware destination for a job:

  1. Click Change at the top of the Destination Window
    • Only one destination is available to jobs created using either the Exchange Method or SQL Method, so you are not able to change the destination for such jobs.

  2. You will then be able to select a new hardware device for backup as well as an appropriate media rotation scheme.
