Riddle us this...

As something fun, we thought we'd start throwing a riddle at y'all each month.

Since this is the first month, we'll start out with an easy one:

I have keys, but no keyholes.
I have space, but no room.
You can enter, but you can't leave.
What am I?

Think you know the answer? You can tweet it @BackupAssist with #RecoveredARiddle.

Or, you can just sit there with a smug smile when we reveal the correct answer next month!

What if you just want to give your poor eyes a break from those near-lethal PDFs?

Well, we've got you covered.

This month, we put together an easy-to-digest infographic on the topic. It covers 4 easy steps everyone should take when planning for Disaster recovery.

Quantum computing takes another step towards reality

IBM announced this month that they have made two 'critical advances' in the goal of creating a practical quantum computer, and that this could shave years off the time expected to have a working system.

Quantum computers have the potential to be exponentially more powerful than conventional computers, so the race to advance this technology is steadily heating up.

Microsoft may be killing 'Patch Tuesday'

Or maybe not... It's still not 100% clear.

For the past 12 years, Microsoft has delivered security patches and updates to its software on the second Tuesday of every month, but this may change with the release of Windows 10.

A recent announcement by Microsoft OSB, Terry Myerson, has some speculating that in the future we may potentially see security patches released as soon as they're ready, whatever day of the week that falls on.

Super computer, or super shrink?

Not content with dominating humanity at Jeopardy, IBM's Watson super computer could soon help you find a therapist.

IBM announced this month it will be teaming up with Talkspace to use Watson's advanced 'Personality Insights' to help link users with an ideal therapist. Eventually, it could even recommend a course of therapy.
