No. BackupAssist supports Windows environments only. It does not support Linux or VMware

Backup speed depends on two key factors – the transfer speed limit of your storage media (e.g. USB connection, Local network or WAN connection speed) and the computer hardware involved. As a general guide, to back up 100GB of data can take a few minutes to a USB3.0 attached storage; tens of minutes to a Gigabit Ethernet connected network storage device; and around 1-2 hours to back up to a cloud destination (with a 100Mbps uplink).

There is no limit to the amount of data that you can back up with BackupAssist. The amount data you can back up is limited only by how much local and/or cloud storage space you have available.

We typically recommend storage capacity of at least 3x the amount of the data that is to be backed up. However, the amount of storage space will vary depending on the backup retention policy configured (backup frequency and retention limits) , as well as how much data is being added or changed between backups. Note that BackupAssist ER and Classic can be configured to automatically delete oldest backups if the disk is full to ensure that the latest backup completes so your system is never made vulnerable due to strorage limits.

We do not provide data storage. Your data storage cost will vary by storage destination and storage provider pricing.
