BA714: Could not copy directory attributes¶
| Error code | Product | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| BA714 | BackupAssist ER | BackupAssist ER v1 and later |
Description¶
This can be due to the NTFS data associated with the files listed in the backup report. BackupAssist ER may not be able to properly manage the NTFS information on the source or destination system.
Reasons for this may be:
- An exclusive lock placed on these by another process such as anti-virus or Windows UAC, that is active when the backup is running.
- Permissions related, not being able to access the NTFS data correctly.
Resolution¶
The NTFS information associated with the files is locked by another process and cannot be accessed by BackupAssist correctly.
To resolve this the following can be checked:
- Find which process is locking the file and configure it to release the file these during the backup window.
- Change the time the backup runs to make sure there is no conflict between the two processes.
