No Australian Support: ANZAC Day 25 April 2013

April 22nd, 2013 by Michael

Each year on the 25th of April, Australia takes a day off to remember solider who have died in conflict. This day – which we call ANZAC Day –  is a national holiday and as such, our Australian support team will not be in the office on 25 April. US support will be operating as per usual.

If you have an urgent inquiry please contact the US support team or email us at support@backupassist.com

ANZAC Day is similar to Veteran’s Day in the US or Remembrance Day in the UK. There is a great Wikipedia article if you’d like to know more about the history and traditions of the day.

Thanks

Australia Day Support Availability

January 22nd, 2013 by Michael

G’Day mate!

Our Australian technical support office will be closed on Monday, 28 January, due to an expected shortage of kangaroos. Kangaroos are the primary mode of transport in Australia and many of them will be fully booked for the national Australia Day holiday.

If you have a query please send it by email or if it is urgent, please contact our US office.

Thank you

The team at BackupAssist

P.S. The part about everyone riding kangaroos is a joke, the part about the office being closed is not.

Re-registering The VSS Writers

January 22nd, 2013 by Michael

Re-registering The VSS Writers is the 2nd of 3 videos demonstrating how you can trouble-shoot VSS backup problems.

If you have viewed your event logs after a failed backup and discovered that you have VSS errors on your system such as a ‘Catastrophic failure’, your VSS writers may be unstable. Re-registering the VSS writers can often resolve these VSS related backup errors and return your system to a stable state.

Locating VSS Errors In Backup Logs

January 16th, 2013 by Michael

Locating VSS Errors In Backup Logs is the 1st of 3 videos demonstrating how you can trouble-shoot VSS backup problems.

If you’re unfamiliar with VSS errors, issues related to imaging backups can be difficult to diagnose. Many of the VSS related error messages released by Microsoft can be ambiguous, requiring further investigation by the user.

Today, we’ll show you how to access and view 3 event logs that help you identify where VSS related backup errors may be occurring.
These are:

1. Operational Backup Log
2. Administrative Events Log
3. Hyper-V Backup Event Log
