BackupAssist v6 End of Life announced

BackupAssist v6 EOL

This is an announcement to all of our customers that the End of Life (EOL) for BackupAssist v6 will occur on the 31st of March 2015.  If you’re a v6 user, while you’ll still be able to continue using v6 after this date, you will no longer be able to receive technical support for the product.  In addition to this, we will no longer be releasing any updates, fixes or patches to the software.

As such, it is strongly recommended you upgrade to the latest version of BackupAssist before this date.

The latest version of BackupAssist offers the full functionality and features of v6, plus a great deal of improvements and technological advances.  Therefore, by upgrading your BackupAssist software, you’re ensuring the best possible protection for your vital systems and data.

It’s never advisable to leave data protection in the hands of outdated software.

To try the latest version of BackupAssist and experience the improvements for yourself, simply download the full-featured free 30 day trial.

We also offer a reminder to users of Windows Server 2003, Windows XP and Windows Vista that although the very newest version of BackupAssist will not support your operating system, you can upgrade to BackupAssist v7 and still benefit from superior quality protection, updates, fixes and technical support.

Version 6 upgrade path

In the past, we have typically corresponded all version EOLs with closure of the version’s upgrade path. However, we are pleased to announce that with v6 and all later versions we will no longer be taking this step. This means that if you wish to upgrade to the newest version of BackupAssist, all you will need to do is renew your Upgrade Protection.

If you have any questions at all about the v6 EOL, please don’t hesitate to get it touch with our support team by emailing your query to support@backupassist.com.

Thanks for your understanding in this issue.
