Version 4 product keys will not activate with version 5: you need a version 5 product key beginning with 'V-5' to activate the software. Upgrades can be purchased from our Purchasing page.

Upgrade from v4.x to v4.2.2

If you already have BackupAssist v4.x installed complete the following to upgrade to the latest version (release notes):
  1. Download the setupBA.exe installer from the link to the left.
  2. Uninstall BackupAssist from your machine:
    Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
  3. Choose 'Please keep all of my jobs, reports and other settings' during the uninstall process.
  4. Run the setupBA.exe installer to upgrade to the latest version. The installer includes all the necessary files to complete the upgrade.
