BackupAssist Classic v11: End of Life Announcement

BackupAssist Classic v11 will reach its End of Life (EOL) on November 26, 2025. After this date, we will no longer provide technical support or security / compatibility patches for this version.

This change allows us to focus our development and support resources on current product versions, enabling us to deliver improved security, compliance, and resilience features – such as those introduced in v12 and v14:

  • Disk-to-Cloud Backup
  • Test Restore
  • VM Instant Boot

After Nov 26, 2025:

  • Technical support for v11 will no longer be available.
  • Software or security patches for v11 will no longer be released.

You may continue using BackupAssist Classic v11 after its EOL date. However, doing so exposes you to the following risks:

  • Compatibility issues: Future operating systems and security updates may break compatibility.
  • Security risks: Without security patches, systems protected by v11 may be exposed to vulnerabilities.
  • Compliance challenges: unsupported software does not meet compliance standards requirements.

To remain supported, we recommend updating to the current version of BackupAssist Classic.

Updating to the latest version requires an active BackupCare subscription. Clients without BackupCare will need to renew or purchase a subscription before upgrading.
