BA1413: Out of space when performing the backup¶
| Error code | Product | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| BA1413 | BackupAssist | BackupAssist v3 or later |
Description¶
The backup has encountered a size limit on your destination that prevents it from continuing. This often happens when the destination is formatted in FAT32, which has a file size limit of just over 4GB.
Resolution¶
Reformat the drive with NTFS
NTFS does not have the 4gb file size limitation. More details on NTFS vs FAT can be found here: http://www.theeldergeek.com/ntfs_or_fat32_file_system.htm
You can "upgrade" a filesystem from FAT to NTFS by using the convert command, for example: convert g: /FS:NTFS. For more help, type convert /? from the command prompt.
