End of life
Mailbox Protection reached end of life on 28 February 2017 and is not part of BackupAssist v10 and later. This article applies to BackupAssist v9 and earlier, which no longer receive technical support. See Software end of life.

Description¶
This error occurs when BackupAssist has an issue with not being able to run the MAPI services to backup individual mailboxes correctly.
Resolution¶
Go to the C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\BackupAssist v5\configuration folder (Server 2003/XP) or C:\ProgramData\BackupAssist V5 (Server 2008\Vista\Windows 7).
Find the file called CortexIT.BA.BackupEngines.Exmerge.ExmergeEngineSettings.config and delete it . The config file is automatically recreated when you next run the backup job.
