BA4801: Could not mount Data container¶
| Error code | Product | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| BA4801 | BackupAssist | BackupAssist 7.1 and later. |
Description¶
This error can occur when there is an issue with the mounting mechanism within Windows. This can prevent BackupAssist from bringing the Data container online so that it can be accessed for the backup.
Resolution¶
To resolve this problem, try and mount the data container manually through Windows. The steps to do this are provided on our blog at https://www.backupassist.com/blog/support/how-to-manually-mount-a-data-container/
If you are unable to mount the VHD correctly through Windows, then this indicates an issue with the operating system and you may need to outline the issue with Microsoft further. Reboot the system as it will free any resource blocking access to Data container.
