BA5212: The backup media was made bootable by using an existing partition¶
| Error code | Product | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| BA5212 | BackupAssist | For BackupAssist 9.0.0 or later. |
Description¶
This is an informational message, not an error. To support bare-metal recovery, BackupAssist keeps a bootable RecoverAssist recovery environment on the backup destination. BA5212 means BackupAssist refreshed that recovery environment using an existing partition on the destination - for example after a BackupAssist or Windows update changed the recovery files. It appears in the informational section of the backup report.
Resolution¶
Resolution - No action required¶
The message confirms that the destination's bootable recovery environment was successfully brought up to date, so no action is needed. If BackupAssist were unable to make the media bootable, it would instead report that as a separate warning.
Note on the backup report¶
The report shows this in the informational section as: The backup media was made bootable by using an existing partition
